Dolly Parton and Doja Cat are set to star in Mexican Pizza: The Musical, a TikTok musical for Taco Bell to celebrate the return of Mexican Pizza to the fast food chain’s menu on May 19.
Written by Hannah Friedman, with a score by Grammy Award-winning duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Mexican Pizza: The Musical, is set to premiere Thursday, May 26, at 5 p.m. PT on Taco Bell’s TikTok.
“I’m making #MexicanPizzaTheMusical with @TacoBell,” Parton wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo’s of the script’s cover page that reads: “Based on the true story of the Internet losing its mind.”
“Here it is y’all! We’re making a musical about my favorite pizza, the Mexican Pizza,” she added on her Instagram Story. “I can’t wait for you to see it!”
Doja, a high-profile supporter of the Mexican Pizza, wrote a “contractual” rap for Taco Bell in 2020 when the item was taken off the menu. “I will end you if you ever dare to go discontinued,” she rapped in the jingle, adding, “This ain’t even Mexican food.”
In addition to Parton and Doja, the musical will also feature Victor Kunda and some yet-to-be-announced special guests, according to Entertainment Weekly.
