Machine Gun Kelly and Dan + Shay have joined the lineup of performers at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, while Red Hot Chili Peppers have dropped off.
It will be MGK’s performance debut at the BBMAs. The rapper-turned-rocker entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 last month with his sixth album, Mainstream Sellout.
Meanwhile, the Billboard Music Awards announced on social media, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will not be able to perform at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday. They look forward to seeing you on the road this summer!”
The show will broadcast live coast-to-coast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 15, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC and will stream live on Peacock.
The awards show will be hosted by two-time BBMA winner Sean “Diddy” Combs. A total of 16 artists will perform on the show, including Ed Sheeran, Raux Alejandro, Silk Sonic, Morgan Wallen and Miranda Lambert.
