Mickey Guyton has tested positive for Covid, forcing her to pull out of her performance at The Roots Picnic this weekend.
The country singer expressed her disappointment on Twitter, saying, “After 2 1/2 years of dodging this virus, COVID has finally hit my doorstep.”
“I was SO looking forward to playing the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on Saturday, but unfortunately, I’ve tested positive for COVID,” she added. “It’s going to be such an amazing weekend and I can’t believe I have to miss it. Hope to make it back soon, but until then, stay well.”
The two-day annual festival of music, art, and culture is scheduled to take place at the Mann at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday and Sunday.
The fate of Guyton’s other upcoming performances later this month is unknown.
She is slated to perform at CMA Fest on June 11 at Downtown Nashville’s Ole Red and the 2022 Juneteenth Celebration at the Hollywood Bowl on June 19.
