Morgan Wallen’s ‘Don’t Think Jesus’ Debuts Atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart

Morgan Wallen‘s “Don’t Think Jesus” has debuted atop Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs Chart.

This marks Wallen’s third No. 1 debut on Billboard’s airplay-, streaming- and sales-based Hot Country Songs chart, making him the first artist to score a trio of No. 1 debuts in the survey’s more than six decades old history.

“Don’t Think Jesus,” released on Mercury/Republic/Big Loud Records on April 15, topped the chart dated April 30. In all, four of Wallen’s songs have earned the No. 1 rank.

“Jesus” was streamed 18.1 million times in the U.S. in its opening frame, ending April 21, according to Luminate. The song also sold 21,500 downloads.

“Jesus” marks Wallen’s first song released with him in a lead role since he was caught on video using the N-word among friends in February 2021.

The song describes a man who uses women and alcohol to get him through life until he finally realizes that he simply can’t live his life like that anymore.
