Willie Nelson Postpones Shows After Positive Covid Case Within Band

Willie Nelson was forced to cancel his headlining gig at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Sunday after an undisclosed member of his touring band tested positive for Covid-19.

Nelson also postponed two other concerts. The show at FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, Tennessee, has been moved to June 19, while his concert in Brandon, Mississippi, has been rescheduled to June 17.

The Zac Brown Band, a country band from Atlanta, took the stage on the closing day of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in place of Nelson.

In a similar development, Melissa Etheridge was forced to cancel her scheduled performance at the Jazz Fest after members of her crew tested positive for Covid. Mavis Staples replaced Etheridge on Saturday.
