Jelly Roll recently opened up about the important role his wife, Bunnie, played to help him gain custody of his daughter.

In an appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, Jelly revealed that Bunnie was more financially successful than he was when they first met and she also provided the funds for him to gain custody of his daughter, Bailee Ann.

“I have to sit Bunnie down and go, ‘Look, I have a kid that you know about that I’m fixing to have to get full custody of,'” he said on the podcast. “‘There’s also a woman out there that’s pregnant with a kid.’ Bunnie is just like, ‘Whew, man, that’s a lot.’ She was like, ‘But I got you.'”

Roll further explained how Bunnie made sure he could care for his daughter.

Jelly Roll was homeless and living in a 1996 van. He couldn’t rent a place because he was a felon and didn’t have proof of income to buy a house.

“She’s like, ‘Well, the first thing we have to do is get you somewhere to live in Nashville,” Jelly Roll says. “I was like, ‘Well, I can’t put it in my name. I’m a felon. I don’t have enough proof of income to get the kind of place we’d need to get her in the right school district.’ Bunnie’s like, ‘Let’s just go get a condo so you have a bedroom for her.'”

“Bunnie bankrolled the whole sh*t, and she never talks about that,” Jelly Roll said.
