Taylor Swift surprisingly announced the release of her new album, titled Midnights, during the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night.
After accepting the award for Video Of The Year for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)”, Swift said, “I know with every second of this moment that we wouldn’t have been able to make this short film if it weren’t for you, the fans.”
“Because I wouldn’t be able to re-record my albums if it weren’t for you. You embolden me to do that. I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out October 21. And I will tell you more at midnight,” she added.
Swift kept her word and took to Instagram with the message, “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.”
She made the statement after receiving her third Video of the Year trophy at the VMAs, breaking the record for the most VMAs for Video of the Year.
The super star also won the award for Best Longform Video and Best Direction at MTV VMAs 2022, held at the Prudential Center in Newark.
